Enterprise System Rewrite
Background:
A national glass repair and replacement shop needed to upgrade their FoxPro work
order and invoicing system.
Problem:
The system needed to capture work order information and assign to a vendor based
upon a location and ranking in the area. The Work orders then needed to be stored
and called up for invoicing. Custom reports needed to be accessible in Excel.
Tnk Group's Solution: Utilizing the .net framework and SQL 2005, TnK Group
built an enterprise level resource management system for this client. The application
captures work order information from the clients, and automatically assigns a vendor
based upon location and the ranking of the vendors in that area. Work orders are
stored in a data warehouse where they are then consumed into the custom invoicing
system where the vendor invoice and customer billing information are entered contemporaneously.
The system computes the sales tax due from the client and produces the invoice.
Additionally, the system produces certain custom excel based summary invoices per
client requirements. Once the invoices are complete, any new information on vendors
or clients is updated in their Microsoft Dynamics SBF financial system. All reports
may be output to Excel through the reporting system interface.
This custom work order system has a dashboard for displaying information regarding
the current number of work orders in various states of production (emergencies,
past due, etc.) that allows for drill down into those individual work orders. Finally
the system allows for storage of files (Word, Excel, pdf and images(jpg, tiff, etc))
linked with specific work orders within the SQL Server database.
