AccPac to Solomon Data Conversion

Background:
A Boston area publicly traded financial services company acquired several affiliates in Canada. The affiliates used AccPac for their accounting system. Our client wanted to convert their AccPac systems to Microsoft Dynamics SL to ease financial consolidations.

Problem:
No tool exists to automatically convert AccPac to Dynamics SL. Data extraction was hampered by the fact that this version of AccPac had a Pervasive SQL database, and we had no access to the actual application itself, just the raw data files.

TnK Group's Solution:
We were able to extract the database files to csv format. We then brought these files into SQL Server and recreated the data model there for conversion to the Dynamics SL model. After examining the tables, we were able to identify the data and reverse engineer the process AccPac used to post, as well as void, invoices and vouchers. The result was we finished the project on time and were able to deliver on all requirements, including full transactional history of the affiliates' accounting systems.
